This letter is to inform you that a student at St. Luke Catholic Elementary School has tested positive for COVID-19. The individual was last in the school on Wednesday, October 6, 2021. The positive test result was confirmed by Hamilton Public Health Services today. Out of respect for the privacy of the individual, personal health information and identifiers will not be released. Persons who test positive for COVID-19 may not return to school until they are cleared by HPHS.
Any students or staff that are required to self-isolate will be notified by the school and provided with a close contact letter from Public Health. This contact tracing letter will outline which close contacts are required to self-isolate, and which are exempt from isolation, based on public health contact tracing guidelines. Please be sure to read the instructions in the public health letter carefully.
The school is working closely with public health officials to ensure that all health and safety measures are in place to prevent transmission to other students and individuals in the school. Students and staff should continue to attend school, excluding those who are required to self-isolate, and to screen daily for COVID-19 symptoms on the provincial COVID-19 school screening website
