About St. Luke Catholic Elementary School

St. Luke Catholic Elementary School was first opened in 1975.

It has provided exemplary Catholic education throughout the past four decades serving the students and families in the Greenhill area of Hamilton's east end.

St. Luke Catholic Elementary School has enjoyed a wonderful relationship with our own St. Luke Catholic Church which was opened in December 1978 with the Founding Pastor, Reverend Alexander J. Kramer, P.P..

Throughout the last 43 years, the Pastors of St. Luke Parish, Principals, teachers and support staff have nurtured the students to achieve their Catholic School Graduate Expectations by fostering their spiritual, intellectual, social/emotional and physical growth.

Father Jerry Punnassery is our Parish Priest. Father Jerry was appointed Pastor of St. Luke Church in June 2015. He is very visible within the school and serves as a wonderful inspiration to all staff, students and their families.

In 2005, St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Elementary School was closed and the students from St. Anthony were welcomed into the St. Luke community. Prior to the closure, St. Luke Catholic Elementary School underwent an extensive renovation to serve the needs of the community and provide a current and trend setting facility.

The newly renovated St. Luke Catholic Elementary School was officially opened in September 2005.

The official blessing and dedication took place on Wednesday March 29th, 2006 by Reverend Father Dan Hinsperger.

"Anyone who welcomes this little child in my name welcomes me; and anyone who welcomes me, welcomes the one who sent me. For the least among you all, that is the one who is great" Luke 9:48
